Do we start thinking about presents!? Hummmm… the season finally came. Please come to see Yuki’s work at selling exhibition ‘Made In Clerkenwell Winter Open Studio 2011′. More than 100 different designer makers are taking part in this event. You can find very unique and original design of jewellery, fashion, interior products, ceramic, prints and more.

1 Week Boutique … at London Design Festival

YSA jewellery at 1 week boutique as a part of the London Design Festival  Tue 20th- Sun 25th September. Please come along to see and pick up  unique Interiors, textiles, jewellery, ceramics and print.

Tue 20th 6- 9 p.m (opening evening), Wed 21st- Fri 23rd 12-7 p.m, Sat 24th 12-6 p.m and Sun 25th 12- 4p.m

This innovative pop-up shop showcases a select group of London based designer-makers in  associate with Craft Central.

1 Week Boutique will be providing charity, Emmaus, with an opportunity to display their pre-loved and renovated furniture during the pop-up shop. The input from Emmaus will ensure that the environment of 1 Week Boutique is truly unique, showcasing the designers work in an eclectic way.

Japanese cafe, Necco and Oddbins in Clarkenwell are providing fantastic nibbles and drinks for the opening evening party.

Very nice to see a lot of lovely people and had good experiences with Flux Studioes  at Old Spitalfield Market for 6 days.

I reunited Becky (Rebecca Boatfield) who had One Day Designer Sale event together at Craft Central in February. She makes quarky jewellery using her graphic design skills and interesting materials together. She reported all her London Jewellery Week quest on her  blog

I met a French jewellery designer,  Dorine Decayeux. She weaves colouful nylon threads to make her light unique jewellery. I should have asked her jewellery photo. her website link is www.vlum.fr

Free diamond jewellery grading and certification services by Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories 11:00-17:00  Monday 6th& Friday 10th

Solitaire Gemological Laboratories will offer free diamond jewellery grading and certification services where you can obtain a certificate of authenticity and quality. This includes information on clarity, colour, shape and product type. All this is done free of charge (normally £20) during London Jewellery Week.

Meanings and Attachments,(2001-present) are an ongoing written/audio and photographic record of people’s personal connections to the jewellery that they wear. Through jewellery, issues of value, communication, personal and collective histories are explored. Ever wondered how jewellery is made? How does a piece of wax get turned into a ring? How does soldering work? A blend of hands on activities that even a beginner can try – simply pull up a chair and have a go! Over two hours you can try your hand at making your very own piece of jewellery from a wire ring to a secret locket and loads in between, our staff will be on hand to guide you. Look out for our Holts Academy assistants at the Spitalfields venue to get details of demonstrations day by day.

JewelEast at Old Spitalfield Market- London Jewellery Week

Let me recycle…

I place silver scraps in a ceramic tray and heat up the scraps by a big gas torch (30-40 mins) and then melt them all down. Very hot indeed (Silver’s melting point is over 897 C). After cooling down, I use a rolling mill to make the material thinner! A chunk of silver needs to be rolled over 20 times from 20mm to 1.5mm. My arms and back were aching, but hey, recycle for love! These were used for ‘Recycled (one-off pieces) range, here.

Report: First Night, Last Friday

We transformed empty workshop spaces to a lovely art gallery within three days!

It was First time to be organised the event by artists in Vanguard Court. A lot of different artists; Fine Artists, Designers and Craftsmen work for own projects at indivisual workshops normally. Totally 300 people visited us during the show and I met many interesting people, lovely arty locals and art collecters.
