As a Japanese-born jewellery designer/maker, now living in London, my work crosses borderers in a creative and inventive way.
I had worked as a large scale metals welder, packaging and editorial designer before I completed my BA degree in Metal and jewellery in U.K. I take inspirations to make jewellery from my Japanese heritage and English surroundings.
My jewellery collections are inspired by positive events in my life, environments and travels. I am also very interested in the differences between the cultural history of jewellery in England and Japan, and this is reflected in my work.
My technique combines metal with fabtic, stones and stitching and also texturing metals by hammering and etching. I enjoy exploring textures, shapes and patterns derived from traditional embroidery and textiles.
